The most popular choice for residential roofing due to its affordability and versatility, asphalt shingles are over 95% of residential roofs we install. We primarily install dimensional shingles (also known as architectural shingles) and do not recommend the older 3-tab style. Dimensional shingles are thicker for better performance, they hold up to the elements better, and they have a longer lifespan (20-40 years), helping you get the most out of your roof investment.
We’re a GAF certified contractor and use their shingles regularly as they are the one of the most trusted and top shingle manufacturers in the country. We can match a style to fit your home or if you have a preference, we can install any kind of shingle of your choice.
Flat Roofing Systems
Ideal for commercial buildings but can be applied to residential, we install EPDM roofs as our choice for flat roofed residential homes. This is a rubber roof system that is easy to install, resistant to tears, and drains well when installed properly. We install EPDM roofs on more modern style homes or small apartment buildings, which can be used when installing rooftop HVAC units.

Metal Roofing
Metal roofing is becoming much more popular as it's known for its durability, energy efficiency, and can last between 40-70 years. Choosing the correct style of metal roof, type of material, and aesthetic appearance all should be factored into your decision making when choosing a metal roof, in addition to the number of years you expect to live in the home.
If you only expect to live in your home 5-10 years, it's unlikely a metal roof is a good choice as there is a significant cost over asphalt shingles and you won't see a significant enough return on your investment when you go to sell. On the other hand, if it’s your forever home for the next 40+ years, metal roofing would be a fine choice.
Wood Shake
Wood shingles or shakes are often made from cedar, redwood, or pine, and provide a natural, rustic look. Wood shake has a longer lifespan than asphalt shingles as wood is much more durable and weather resistant. The only downside is it often requires more maintenance as wood is more prone to insects, moss or mildew, and the wood can split or crack over time, so washing and regular repairs may be required to ensure your roof is water-tight.

Solar Roofing
Sparked by the Tesla solar roof for energy generation, solar roofs require high degrees of expertise in both roofing and electrical. There is a high expense of the shingles themselves and requirements for installing Powerwall batteries for storing the energy. As a new and emerging technology with a high expense, we do not recommend this type of roof, especially in Ohio that has highest number of cloudy days of all states in the US.

Slate Roofing
Slate roofing offers an unmatched longevity, lasting 75-100 years or more, generally installed on high-end homes. Considering they are often made of actual slate rock, they are highly resistant to fire, mold, pests, and more. While we don’t install these ourselves, we recommend making sure upgrades are made to your roof decking to support the heavy weight of slate shingles.
